selfupdate-cvs by itself doesn't give you access to any of the unstable
packages.  You also need to enable the unstable trees (using
FinkCommander or by editing /sw/etc/fink.conf .  Did you do this?

If you did, then there's a possibility that a 10.1->10.2 upgrade got
confused.  You can check this out by doing "ls -l /sw/fink" and see
whether /sw/fink/dists does in fact exist, and that it is a symbolic
link to /sw/fink/10.2 .
