I just remarked out the line that called quartz-wm, but I am still getting the same error. I also tried it with starting Metacity, but same result as well.

Any other thoughts? Thanks for the help.

Thanks,
Brian

One note--by calling quartz-wm here, you aren't running metacity. If you
want to have metacity, call it instead of quartz-wm.

exec gnome-session

When I launch x11.app, I get the Gnome splash screen, then the
following error in an error dialog box.

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not
work correctly.
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
The last error message was:
Failed to activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log
in.

Any ideas what I should do?

I get a lot of similar errors with gnome and quartz-wm. Try starting up
with metacity and see if things are better.

Thanks for the help.
