The grep error is due to it getting called four times in init.csh.  It,
too should be under /usr/bin

Go ahead and try doing

ls -l /usr/bin

like I said in the prior message--I don't need the results of the other
command.

Also, do the following:

ls /Library/Receipts/BSD*
