I got around this problem by entering the "source /sw/bin/init.csh" right in the new terminal. Then I got fink scanpackages and dselect to run. But now, it seems that nothing has installed or is working apparently becuase I already had X11 installed. I am stumped by the instructions I've been given. It says that I must either remove my X11 and rerun the installation OR install some other package, which I can't find, in order to make fink work with my present X11. Anyone?
