Sorry, I meant to add that I've run fink selfupdate, and fink update-all.
I'm currently running gnome 2.0.3-2.  After the output I've pasted above,
are usually some lines regarding the audio, so the absence of this could
seem to indicate a failure with gnome-audio.  Is there a way to start
gnome without audio to test that theory?
