Okay, maybe I shouldn't have done this, but since I was having trouble getting fink to work right (I'll describe those problems in a separate e-mail if I ever get it installed again) I deleted the whole /sw directory and downloaded the new installer.

So, now I have no /sw directory and Fink 0.5.2 Installer.pkg on my desktop. I thought I'd run it and it would give me a new version of fink! But, insteady it just gives the error message "missing or old bill of materials" and quits!

What should I do? What is a "bill of materials"? Is this a bug in the installer or is it a consequence of the fact that I previously had fink on my computer and tried deleting it (at the advice of an "expert")?

HELP!
