I installed Gnome 2.0 on Fink from source to see how it would work vs.
KDE in XDarwin's full-screen mode. It seemed less polished and I didn't
like the way some of my X11 apps picked up the Gnome widgets--bold
italic menu items on Scribus, Sodipodi and Bluefish made them hard to
use. So I removed as many Gnome packages as I could find, but these
applications still had the bold italic menu text rather than a clean,
readable sans serif. Finally I did sudo rm -rf /sw/ and reinstalled
everything, from Fink to my applications, except for the Gnome 2.0
stuff. After compiling everything again from source, the apps above
still had the Gnome widgets--bold italic text on the menus! Since doing
a clean reinstall of all my X11 software hasn't solved the problem, I
need to know if there is there any way to get rid of this? I just don't
want to have to spend another 18 hours compiling everything again.
Running Jaguar 10.2.8, Fink 0.16.2, current version of XDarwin.
