LyX has an OS X version which you can install as a normal OS X package. I think it's great.

Hello,

I'd like to get Fink to see Octave and LyX so that I can install them. I see that versions of both LyX and Octave exist in both the stable and unstable trees of 10.2-gcc3.3, but I can't seem to get Fink to recognize them. I tried what the FAQ says to do, moving the .info and .patch files to a "Local" branch, but apparently I'm not doing it quite right. It appears that Fink is only looking in the 10.3 branch of the index (sw/fink/10.x).

Mac OS X 10.3.1, latest developer tools, Fink 0.6.2 in cvs mode, package manager 0.17.1.

Thanks,

Tom
