The big question is where the help files reside so that I can install them. Also, can I put the appropriate tarball in my
/src directory and then get fink to do the install or do I have to do a standard UNIX type install (assuming the file exists somewhere in the cd list). I'd really like to have the help files since I need help a lot!!
Thanks,

I really shouldn't be offering advice - I'm a beginner after all - but if you're crazy enough to listen to me, then, in order of decreasing certainty:
With KDE (this is common practice) the help files are bundled in with the apps themselves. So the docs you want from the linux format cd are spread amongst the packages there.
However, I think the documentation you want may be installed on your mac, through fink. At any rate, I have lots in /sw/share/doc/ organised by app. There's a subdirectory kde/en/ with all the kde apps in it.
(I've just glanced through the fink packaging docs, and there is a policy for putting docs in this directory.)
However, KDE Help Centre doesn't find it - although it does find the man pages. This might be a configuration problem. But I really don't know.
