1) My understanding is that enabling unstable in fink.conf will not 
alter what apt-get sees (for this you must enable unstable in 
/sw/etc/apt/sources.list, but even here, there are no binaries in 
unstable -- read Alexander Hansen's reponse to me further back in the 
archives for where this may be useful)

2) What OS are you using? 
http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/unison shows that unison 
is not available in the 10.3 tree, for instance.
