Hi all,

Since the last security update, I've been having the problem with both xfontpath and xset.

I have this set-up in my .xinitrc:

#Fontpath

xfontpath install applettf ghostscript
xfontpath enable

but I get this message;

xfontpath: can't open `/sw/etc/xfontpath.conf.new'

and there is no xfontpath.conf.new.

If I start xfontpath manually by

sudo xfontpath install applettf ghostsrcipt,

xfontpath generates .conf file as follows:

-rw-r--r--    1 root  admin     128  5 Feb 13:43 xfontpath.conf

This has :

# This file was automaticaly generated by xfontpath.
# Don't edit!
#
/sw/lib/X11/fonts/applettf/
/sw/lib/X11/fonts/ghostscript/

Then, when I try to enable the path by

sudo xfontpath enable,

I get this message,

xset: bad font path element (#87), possible causes are:
    Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
    Directory missing fonts.dir
    Incorrect font server address or syntax

I checked permissions of two font directories ;

drwxr-xr-x  180 root  admin  6120 26 Jan 10:26 applettf
drwxr-xr-x    3 root  admin   102  6 Dec  2003 ghostscript

and there is font.dir in both directories.

Now, when I do xset q, I get these font path

Font Path:
/sw/lib/X11/fonts/applettf/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X11R6/ lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/,/usr/X11R6/lib/ X11/fonts/CID/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/ fonts/100dpi/

I am getting stuck at this point, and would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.
