That clarifies things a bit. The offending line does indeed just contain a call to /usr/X11R6/bin/fc-cache . The xorg maintainer (cc'ed) is receiving an Intel Mac today, so he (or anybody else with an intel box) can see how reproducible this problem is. -- Alexander K.
