I'm trying to install GMT. I am running Leopard, and downloaded the fink
source today, then ran the selfupdate-rsync. There were no errors.
To install GMT, I ran:
*$ fink install gmt*
*Scanning package description files..........
Information about 2471 packages read in 0 seconds.
Can't resolve dependency "netcdf-shlibs (>= 3.6.2-6)" for package "
gmt-4.2.0-2" (no matching packages/versions
found)
Exiting with failure. *
I tried doing a
*$ fink install netcdf*
which worked and seemed to also install the netcdf-shlibs, but a
*$ fink list netcdf*
shows the netcdf version is:
* i netcdf 3.6.0-1002 Interface and library for
array-oriented data access
i netcdf-bin 3.6.0-1002 Interface and library for
array-oriented data access
i netcdf-shlibs 3.6.0-1002 Interface and library for
array-oriented data access
*
I thought maybe it was because I had selected that I didn't want to see the
unstable packages, so I ran a
*$ fink configure
*and selected for the unstable packages to show up. It didn't seem to have
any effect, so I ran a
*$ fink update-all
$ fink index*
hoping these would get the updated netcdf somewhere on my system.
In case it was a listing thing, I reran the
*$ **/sw/bin/pathsetup.sh *
and retried the
*$ fink list netcdf*
in a new terminal window.
Not sure what to try next...
Help please?
Eleanor
