Hello,

I just installed fink and kde in order to have kile (latex IDE)
working on MacOS X. The installation went smoothly. I can run both kde
(such as kile and kwrite) and non-kde applications (such as gv), but
there is a nasty problem with kde applications. It seems a bug on the
drawing functions: when I scroll, on any kde screen, it simply
overlays with what is already there. So, the text becomes "smudged"?
This behavior happens with the file open dialog, for example, and any
other kde window.

This could be related to an X server problem, to a fonts/encoding
problem...? anything, but it happens only with kde, not with non-kde
applications. The kde log includes many times:
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
   Major opcode: 70
   Minor opcode: 0
   Resource id: 0x0
libkonq: Repainting (22,91)
libkonq: Repainting (22,99)
libkonq: Repainting (104,99)
...

Prior to that, I had macports installed. I moved the macport tree
from /opt/local just in case, but it did not help. The fink paths seem
correct, like:

marinho-computer:tmp Marinho$ which kile
/sw/bin/kile

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Marinho
