I'm on mac os 10.5.7
I installed fink per the instructions on the website
% fink scanpackages; fink index
% sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install fink

% sudo fink update-all
But when I run "fink install wml" it tells me there is no such
package.
So I run "fink index" and it does not list wml.
however, wml is listed on the fink website as a package.
Right here: http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/wml
It would seem that I am missing something, but I don't see what I've
done wrong.
thanks for your help

First run "fink index -f" to clear a problem associated with Leopard's
installer.
The link you posted shows that wml is only in the unstable tree. Have
you enabled that via 'fink configure'?
Also, the instructions you've listed (what page were they from?
You're paraphrasing, because you never have to run 'sudo fink ...')
don't give any indication that you've enabled rsync or cvs updating,
which is required even to get the package descriptions from the
unstable tree. "fink -V" will provide information about whether
you've got rsync or cvs on.
So, in summary, enable the unstable tree, and run another selfupdate,
provided that you've got rsync or cvs updating turned on.
