I followed the directions at
http://finkproject.org/faq/usage-packages.php#special-x11-debug
to reinstall Xcode and X11. That seemed to go fine. Then the perl588
installation went okay. I then followed with the Fink reinstall,
selfupdate and update all, which all seemed to run fine.
However, certain key programs are not running and it seems there are
problems with needed libraries. For example, I run octave and when it
goes to plot a graph, I get:
octave:3> plot(x,y)

I tried to install gnuplot and Fink resonds "No packages to install"
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Folks,
I updated to SL (from 10.5) and followed the directions for
updating Fink. However, after "fink reinstall fink" I got the
error message:
WARNING: you have an incomplete X11 installation.
See http://finkproject.org/faq/usage-packages.php#special-x11-
debug for details on repairing it.
The reinstall seemed to go okay, however. But then when I tried
to update to perl588, I got the warnings/failure below. Seems
that this is still related to x11. The x11 is the native one that
ships with SL.
Any ideas?
thanks,
glenn

Have you tried running
fink-virtual-pkgs --debug
as suggested on that page? What does it say?
