Oh... I didn't realize that. Looking at the package database now, I
see that you're right; if you don't name a more specific mysql-shlibs
or mysql-dev package, fink hands you an ancient one. How odd. No
wonder I was having problems, though.

This has put me on the right path. Thanks for the pointer!
