After logging out X11 is no longer called. I can open Terminal.app as  
well.
But as soon as I try to open X11 I get the same recurring  problem.
Should I try to re-install X11 from the sytem disk?

in my .xinitrc I just  have the path for fink:
source /sw/bin/init.sh
nothing else.
 From my .profile I removed all export commands which were recommended
on the Fink Website. So it is empty now.
