Hi,
I have a mac OS X Version 10.6.4. I want to compile a program written in
fortran. Since xcode doesn't have such a compiler I downloaded Fink
(fink-0.29.16) and Fink commander 0.5.5.dmg (where I set FinkCommander's Perl
path to /usr/bin/perl5.8.9, as it was said on the website).
Now, in Fink commander I have the following problems:
-if I want to install a package it doesn't work and I get (when I double click
on the package I want, here gimp):

Error
The following could not be opened:
/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo/virtual/gimp-print.info
(I guess this is because I couldn't install it, right?)

-if I want to do a self-update I get: /n/nERROR: Self-repair failed. Please
be sure you are running FinkCommander from a directory and disk you are
authorized to modify (e.g., not a disk image).

How can I fix this, and do you know a good fortran compiler(I read about g77
but when I searched for it in the Fink commander there were no results)?

Thanks a whole lot, Daniel
