When it had been installed at some point and then removed.  The status
file continues to track such packages until you run "fink cleanup
--dpkg-status" to remove those.

In general, you don't want to do this, yeah. :-)
However, in the special case of packages that start with
"fink-buildlock" it's OK because these packages don't actually install
any files and only need to exist while you're running a build

Oh, those were the final lines?  Nothing mentioning /sw/var/dpkg/status
in the snipped text?  If that's the case we may need to look elsewhere
for a solution.
