It's lacking features. It's not sufficient to do everything we need to do. Anyway, regarding the opposition against a new package format: may I ask are you actually against: * the new format (be it XML, YAML or anything else) * support for muliple variants * or both. My I finally add in that "new format" very well could mean "old format with extended features" ? It's just that so far nobody suggested how the old format could be extended to support variants. BTW, another thing that using XML IMHO would simplify & beautify is the representation of multiple source files. Just my two cents.
