There's no defense, because there's no violation. Failure to give credit
isn't nice, but it isn't a violation of the GPL either.
Speaking of GPL violations, OpenOSX *does* distribute an "update"
package for PHP at this page <http://openosx.com/support/index.html>.
This includes the entire binary PHP package (so far as I can tell), and
is capable of being used on its own, yet does not include source or an
offer to provide source, or even the GPL COPYING file.
