Thanks for the reply,
I'm hardly surprised that you guys are way ahead of this issue! Still, I
really appreciate knowing that assigning the home directory to /dev/null
will not hobble the corresponding packages. I start with Fink long ago and
the extra users on my machine still have / as their home directories. (not
that I plan to delete them)
Thanks again for the info. I'll never waiver from the conviction that
Fink is the best software available for OS X but reaffirmation always feels
great!
