There were some issues that made us consider getting out quickly a 
0.4.0a release. Like for example:

* dangerous problem in passwd
* broken libmpeg
* broken r-base
* source bootstraping seems not possible w/o trick (trick being that 
you download the debianutil source manually, and during bootstrap 
tell Fink in which directory it can be found)
* gdk-pixbuf doesn't build correctl the first time it's built
* ... others I bet


However, I think none of these are really that bad that we can't 
leave a time with it, if the time is not to long. Also we don't even 
have all of these resolved yet (like gdk-pixbuf, which is IMHO top 
priority right now).

Hence my proposal would be to wait a bit longer, but then get a 0.4.1 
release out pretty soon. Say in one month. What do you guys think?

Note that I can probably release updated stable tar balls earlier 
with some work, the bindist has the capabilities for this, we just 
didn't use them in the past (so I am not 100% sure all would work 
right, but fairly sure anyway).
