No, this came up recently, but it's not yet fixed. The fink package 
should be 0.9.6g, but during its build phase it links with the 0.9.6e 
libraries in /usr/lib, so it is in reality a mixture of the 2 versions, 
and it announces itself as 0.9.6e.
