Why not just delete the entire tree save for the root [and the root level CVS directory]-- the first cvs update afterwords will generate more bandwidth in that it will refresh the entire tree, but not a huge amount in that it is all text and highly compressed. (And is nothing in comparison to the bandwidth generated by downloading all the random source files)
