Well, it doesn't normally happen in the fink tree. I couldn't say
without knowing the actual error, but as far as I'm aware, there's
nothing whacky we've done to it. (You're using the kde-admindir tarball
too, right? Unpacked over the admin/ dir in arts? If not, you'll have
many problems.)

Qt is built with gcc3, gcc2 won't work. All of the KDE codebase works
fine with gcc3, so that is not the issue. You likely have something
else going on, but you didn't give errors, so I can't be more specific.

| Did anybody try to build KDE againt the native Qt?

Yes, I've tried and it is non-trivial. I got arts building in a couple
of hours, but everything past that is pretty X-centric. Likely the
easiest thing to do will be to make some tweaks to the KDE code used to
make it build with Qt/Embedded, and add checks for Qt/Mac specifically.

If you really want to pursue this further, fink-devel is not the best
place to do so. Feel free to join the kde-darwin list at
http://www.opendarwin.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-darwin and we can work it
out there.

This will likely not be something that can be accomplished with just a
few e-mails to the list. =)
