There is now a script available which will attempt to update a 10.4- transitional (or 10.3) fink installation to the 10.4 tree. The script comes in a tarball which also contains basic deb files for a 10.4 installation (and hence is nearly 12 MB).
I'll announce this script generally in a day or so, but in the meantime, if anybody would like to test it under real-world circumstances, I would like to hear how it went.
