I used the script to update from 10.4-Transistional unstable tree to 10.4 on a G4 dual. This system has a default shell of fink's zsh-4.3.2-1002. The procedure was started from an non-admin account, using screen. I su'd to an admin account inside screen, and then ran the update script. The only glitch was a conflict between ccache- default and gnuplot (resolved by removing ccache-default): Preparing to replace gnome-doc-utils 0.6.1-1 (using .../gnome-doc- utils_0.6.1-1001_darwin-powerpc.deb) ... Unpacking replacement gnome-doc-utils ... I have only done basic testing, but so far everything seems to Just Work. Wow. My hat is off to you and the rest of the Fink team. I was particularly impressed at how many binary packages were available. Only about 150 of my 740 installed packages required a compile - the rest were available in binary.
