Ok, but you don't answer my questions here. Are the files corrupted? Are
the files empty? Have you done a recent CVS update?

If the symptoms you're getting are consistent, then try picking one of
your .info files (at random, I guess) and send it to the list. Most likely
it won't help -- unless there's something broken with *all* of them, then
the problem has to be somewhere else -- but it will at least narrow things
down a bit.

On a different tack, who owns the files in the /sw/fink/dist tree? Do they
belong to your user's account? Are the permissions set to "-rw-------"?

If the earlier advice didn't help, then this doesn't apply. If you tried
moving the stable & unstable directories (did it make new ones, by the
way?), remove the new ones ("rm -rf") and put the originals back.


I don't see enough detail to see where the problem is yet. You sent part
of a log file before. Maybe sending more of one -- earlier entries? --
would help nail down where the problem is. So far I'm just confused...
