This isn't right. The CVS update is run as your username, so the files need to be owned by your username. Do this, then re-run selfupdate: % sudo chown -R rah:staff /sw/fink/dists Using your actual username, if it isn't 'rah'. Then, try the 'ls -al' line on a random directory again to make sure that everything has been changed to your account from the root account. If so, then try to do a fresh % fink selfupdate-cvs to see if that straightens things out.
