No wonder there is No such file or directory ... So we still don't know whether and how your .info files are corrupted... >> Have you done a recent CVS update? > Yes. Seems to work, since your fink version 'below' is correct. All your corrupted files seem to be in local/bootstrap (and, if I remember correctly the content of local/bootstrap , ALL of them except gettext are corrupted..) So I would suggest : 1) sudo chown -R 501 /sw/fink (replace 501 by your username if you changed your uid) 2) rm /sw/fink/dists/local/bootstrap/finkinfo/* (you have anyway all those files in stable/main/finkinfo/base ) 3) fink selfupdate-cvs (some base packages changed recently) 3) (Optionally, to be sure to get rid cleanly of the (redundant) local/bootstrap tree): a) edit /sw/etc/fink.conf (pico) to be sure local/bootstrap is the last item on the line "Trees: ..." b) fink rebuild each of the following packages (in order): base-files fink debianutils libiconv gettext ncurses bzip2 gzip tar dpkg apt (and then any additional ones that may have been in local/bootstrap _ I'm going by memory here) This will make sure all corresponding deb files are also out of your local/bootstrap tree (and that your base packages are build correctly..) (The 'order' mentioned is +/- the dependency order) c) rm -R /sw/fink/dists/local/bootstrap d) edit again /sw/etc/fink.conf to remove completely local/bootstrap from the Trees line Jean-Francois Mertens _______________________________________________ Fink-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-users
