I suspect that this has occurred because you resized the window or 
adjusted the split view while a command was running, which caused the 
scroller (the blue blob in the scroll bar) to move up.  In the default 
mode, FinkCommander stops automatically scrolling when the scroller 
moves away from the bottom in order to give the user an opportunity to 
read previous output.

But that assumes the user deliberately moved the scroller.  Automatic 
scrolling shouldn't stop simply because the user resizes the window or 
split view.  I'll try to fix this behavior in the next release of 
FinkCommander.  Thanks for pointing it out.

As an interim fix, you can select "Scroll to the bottom when input is 
received" in Preferences:General.
