mv: rename /sw/src/root-xfree86-base-4.2.0.1-1/sw/../Applications to
/sw/src/root-xfree86-rootless-4.2.0.1-1/sw/../Applications: No such
file or directory
This *is* affected by linking /sw to another location, because of the leading
/sw in the path.
The version of the fink package manager in CVS has a modification that will
allow this problem to be fixed, but we are going to have to wait until
that version is released before it can be used in a package.
There are three things you could do at this point:
1) reinstall fink with the installation location specified as the actual
directory you are installing, rather than linking /sw to that directory
(Disadvantage: you will never be able to install anything in binary
form)
2) instead of linking /sw to another location, link all of the directories
inside it to other locations, one by one. This is what I do on my
iBook whose disk is cramped for space. I have a volume called Fink,
and a whole bunch of links
ln -s /Volumes/Fink/bin /sw
ln -s /Volumes/Fink/include /sw
The one thing that I *don't* link is /sw/src, because of the build
problems you are having. (Disadvantage: you need enough space in your
main partition to do all the building of packages)
3) install the CVS fink by going to /sw/fink, issuing the commands
cvs co fink
cd fink
./inject.pl
after this, you will need to modify your xfree86 package to take
advantage of the new feature -- Ben Reed can help you out with that.
Good luck!
