To turn that question around, are there any benefits to doing that? If
you know you trust everyone that might end up using your computer --
including people logging in over networks etc -- then hey go for it.

But on the "good fences make good neighbors" line of thought, rules of
thumb for best practices generally discourage this kind of thing.
