I apologize for the off topic post, but I thught someone could give me help. We are having trouble getting our Unix machines to recognize the X11 windows from OSX. So i can say telnet into the machine (either a Sun or an SGI), can give regular commands, but if I try running Nedit say, it gives an error that it can't open the display. I have tried changing the display setting in the environment to what I thought would be correct, but with no success.-------
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,
on MacOS X IN the xterm :
xhost host.for.bar
( allow the remote host "host.foor.bar" to display on the xwindows running on MacOS X)
on the remote host ( e.g. csh):
setenv DISPLAY mac.foo.bar:0.0
( "mac.foo.bar" is your Mac running the Xwindows )
Hope this helps.
