Hi all, I think I correctly followed the instructions, but at least
xterm under XDarwin doesn't seem to be working.
Background info: I previously installed fink from the binary
distribution on a PowerbookG3Lombard (333MHz) running 10.1.5. All
seemed to work well, but I don't use it very much yet. This weekend I
followed the instructions for the Jaguar Upgrade, and all seemed to go
well, using fink's XFree86 package, and then after giving the 'fink
update-all' command stuff began compiling for almost 12 hours and
finished. I didn't notice any fatal errors or anything but I'm a
rookie.
Then, output from 'fink selfupdate-cvs' at first went through 10.1
stable and unstable, then 10.2 stable, and with 10.2 unstable
encountered some of the common problems like:
move away such-and-such, it is in the way
cannot remove such-and-such, no such file or directory
...so, I ran fink update-all and that seemed to fix some stuff.
Now selfupdate-cvs and update-all commands seem to refer to one
another, and output from both is brief and seems to return no errors.
But, when I start XDarwin and try to open an xterm, an xterm.crash.log
pops up with the following. (Obviously something is not quite right yet)
Date/Time: 2002-11-04 11:28:27 -0500

What's the simple and obvious thing to do that I have overlooked? ;0)
Thanks,
