I wrote the letter not to incite a specific response from Apple, but to raise their awareness of the impact of open source generally, and fink specifically, in their user base. All gut, no proposals. Is it worth the effort? Hey, it's my stamp.

Sure, one could ask Apple for some more specific support. I would feel a little silly doing that without some proposal from the Fink community on the table. If there were one well-defined idea to rally behind, then that could inspire some more effective lobbying of Apple. In that spirit, I wonder if there is any concensus in this forum as to what, if any, support we wish Apple would lend to Fink?
