Well, if the packages were set up correctly by the maintainer, then you
wouldn't have a package installed unless its dependencies were.

As a quick way to check where the crash occurred check in /sw/src: 
there will be directories for packages for which you have had crashes or
interrupted builds (unless you have the remove build directory option
turned off).
