Hi,

I edited my fink.conf to contain unstable, so I could install fix-fink, and rebuild things linked against the outdated libpng. After installing fix-fink, I then edited my fink.conf back, to remove the unstable paths. I then ran fix-fink, and it appears to have resulted in lots of things from unstable being built (I should look more closely at what it's asking me when I say yes to something!). Maybe it used a stale index or something? Anyway, gnome no longer works (under XDarwin), and the message from the console says:

/Users/sherlock/.xinitrc: exec: gnome-session: not found

It appears that I now have several gnome things from unstable (including control-center 2.03) is there something other than gnome-session that should be exec'd? Should I simply go back to the old gnome stuff - presumably the easiest way is to blow away fink and start again :-(.

Thanks for any help! (and I do love fink!),

Cheers,
Gavin
