Okay. Then one of your system files must be wrong. No idea why. The 
only suspect for me is MacGimp, but I'm far from sure.

Anyhow, could you send me the output of the following commands:
cat /etc/csh.cshrc
cat /etc/csh.login
and to be sure we're looking at the right files:
echo $SHELL
