Interesting...all I have is Xft.h and XftCompat.h .

I did a little hunting around and determined that XftFreetype.h is installed by the Apple X11 SDK. One thing you could try is to rename it temporarily (e.g "sudo mv XftFreetype.h XftFreetype.h.old") and see what that does.
