What size is the file? I just downloaded it myself and it looked fine. You can check it before installing by running

dpkg --contents fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb

Hi,
Thanks, I think it is an upgrading trouble. However, on the website
suggested, I was asked to do the following:
curl -O
http://us.dl.sf.net/fink/direct_download/dists/fink-0.5.1/main/ binary-darwin-po
werpc/base/fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb
sudo dpkg -i fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb

right after this, it says that the file is not in debian format. What might
be wrong?

rm fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb

Maybe you are still using OS X 10.1? If so, look for the correct source
file in http://us.dl.sf.net/fink/direct_download/source and copy it to
/sw/src/.

If not, maybe you are having trouble upgrading fink, without realizing it?
Try following these instructions:

I recently tried installing xfig using
fink install xfig

and the following error results:

The following package will be installed or updated:
xfig
The following 3 additional packages will be installed:
transfig x-ghostscript-fonts xfontpath
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
The checksum of the file transfig.3.2.3d.tar.gz of package transfig-3.2.3d-7
is incorrect. The most likely cause for this is a corrupted or incomplete
download. It is recommended that you download it again. How do you want to
proceed?

Recommended option [2] (delete file and download again) does not resolve
problem.
I've tried doing a
fink selfupdate
before installing so I'm sure that my package descriptions are up to date.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thanks,
KL
