I just installed mozilla 1.3-2 from unstable crypto and when
it started up the first time I got a zillion errors like
font /System/Library/Fonts/Geneva.dfont FreeType failed to open, error=19575472
And the fonts looked pretty awful in mozilla, though with
some fiddling I got a more usable basic set. (I think
mozilla is also having some problems sorting out screen
resolution on my TiBook that interact badly with the font
selection.)
Anyway, I guess I have something wrong with my freetype
setup: fink list freetype
freetype 1.3.1-6 TrueType font rendering library, version 1
freetype-bin 1.3.1-6 TrueType font rendering library, version 1
i freetype-hintin 1.3.1-7 TrueType font rendering library, version ...
i freetype-hintin 1.3.1-7 TrueType font rendering library, version ...
i freetype-hintin 1.3.1-7 TrueType font rendering library, version ...
freetype-shlibs 1.3.1-6 TrueType font rendering library, version 1
i freetype2 2.1.3-1 TrueType font rendering library, version 2

freetype2-hinti 2.1.3-1 TrueType font rendering library, version ...
i freetype2-shlib 2.1.3-1 TrueType font rendering library, version ...
I don't recall choosing this subset, perhaps various other
things required them?
Do I need to do anything after installing FreeType to make
it work?
Everything fink I have should be up to date cvs unstable.
I tweaked the pango1-xft2 info file to get mozilla to
install with system-xfree86-43 and it seemed to work so I
hope that isn't the root of the problem. Blushes and
apologies if so...
