run 'sudo gcc_select 3', you're using gcc3.3, but the main fink tree only supports gcc 3.1.

Should this issue be in the FAQs?
I note that the Fink web page says "After installing both the new package manager and the Developer Tools update, fink will ask you to reset your gcc version whenever that is necessary." So I assumed that I didn't need to worry about gcc versions.
It will, if you're using the new version of fink (0.14.2), and you're working in the 10.2-gcc3.3 tree. the "regular" 10.2 tree isn't really set up to enforce those kinds of things.
