Cool, that worked, I now just have i system-xfree86 2:4.3-1 [placeholder for user installed x11] that appeared after force-removing the other two, and pango installs without demanding xfree86 > http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/usage-packages.php#apple-x11-wants-xfree86 That wasn't my problem, I have the same xfree86 4.3 binaries from the XonX site I've had since they came out last year...
