Yet, when I check my installs and try to do what they suggest:

i system-xfree86-dev 2:4.3-2 [placeholder for user installed x11 development tools]
i system-xfree86-shlibs 2:4.3-2 [placeholder for user installed x11 shared libraries]
Could you let me know what this shows for you? if you've got the -shlibs but not the -dev then you need to grab your xcode cd and install the X11SDK. If that is the case then you might want to go and read the faq :)
