... appending configuration tag "F77" to libtool checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool ### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 1 Failed: compiling gnome-vfs2-2.4.2-6 failed
Anyone else seen this?
On my system, I have the following perls:
/usr/bin/perl /sw/bin/perl5.6.0
And according to fink, I have XML::Parser installed (bu it's using /usr/bin/perl, which might not pick that up)...
fink apropos XML::Parser
Information about 2598 packages read in 3 seconds.
xml-dom-pm581 1.43-10 Perl ext that adds new style to XML::Parser
xml-node-pm 0.11-1 Perl extension interface to XML::Parser
i xml-parser-pm 2.34-12 Placeholder for versioned XML::Parser packages
Creating a symlink called /sw/bin/perl which points to /sw/bin/perl5.6.0 fixed the problem, causing configure to pick up the version with XML::Parser.
Will this workaround screw up my system? Should I have been creating that symlink all along (I don't use perl too much)? Should this be fixed some other way?
Thanks,
