Dear all,

I didn't receive any reaction to my questions below. Unfortunately
I can still not use xmms. I don't have any clue what might be
wrong and I would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.

I saw this problem in several messages on this list. But no solution yet.
I tried the tips given, without success.

I reinstalled xmms using binary and then all plugins were gone, as well as
the visualisations, effect and general etc. So then I removed xmms and
reinstalled it by building the package myself. Build went fine (xmms 1.2.8-1)
no problems. But again: no plugins, no output, no input, nothing!

This also happened with the version in the stable tree: same thing.

So my conclusion is: xmms is definitely broken!!

Please give this problem your attention. Thank you!

Loek

If you check the archives of fink-beginners, there were others who had this problem; they were able to install the unstable Fink version (1.2.8-1).
