Ok, keep on working.. The warning is always the same: oss_open(): Failed to open audio device /dev/dsp: No such file or directory I've tried on my macosx 10.3.2 and with the version 1.2.8-1 some way. Removed xmms, xmms-bin, xmms-shlibs, removed ~/.xmms then to reinstall it. Same problem. After that I've tried the same procedure then removed esound (that works) and I tried also with esound-bin, esound-shlibs and esound-common but I wasn't able because gnome-libs-dev depends on gnome-libs-shlibs that depends on esound-bin that depends on esound-shlibs that depends on esound-common. At the end I followed the last way again not removing but with fink purge. I'm using agua not gnome, I've nothig else installed about gnome, just this lib and I do not remember why they're installed (can it depends on Xcode??) How can I know what depend on it?? (just checking wich package was installed in the same date??) May not depend on the dev chosen? There's no other Darwin name for this device?? Thanks for your effort, sorry for my english.. Respect Andrea
